Safe in moderation
Can dogs eat turkey? Yes, in moderation
Safe. Plain cooked turkey meat with no skin, bones or seasoning is fine as a small treat.
If your dog ate a lot
- No need to worry if your dog ate plain turkey meat.
- If they ate skin, bones, stuffing or seasoned meat, call your vet for advice.
Don't
- Don't give cooked turkey bones, skin or stuffing.
How to give it safely
Cook it plain with no salt, fat or seasoning, remove the skin and bones, and give small, treat-sized pieces.
Why
Turkey skin and fat can cause pancreatitis, and cooked turkey bones are brittle and can cause choking or blockages.
