What to do now
- Call your vet or a pet poison line now.
- Keep the packaging and bring it with you.
- Get your dog checked even if it seems fine. Signs can be delayed.
Don't
- Don't make your dog vomit unless a vet tells you to.
Signs to watch for
- Low blood pressure
- Fast or abnormal heartbeat
- Low body temperature
- Trouble breathing from fluid in the chest or lungs
When signs appear: Can be fast or delayed up to 24 hours
Why
Minoxidil is absorbed quickly when swallowed. It can drop blood pressure and upset heart rhythm, and heart signs may not appear until many hours later.
